Comprehensive Community Planning. Chignecto is providing technical advice to nine Atlantic First Nations as they each develop a long term community plan tailored specifically to their unique needs.
First Nation organizational review. Chignecto has conducted a thorough analysis of all elements of the Attawapiskat First Nation community in northern Ontario including its fiscal regime, independent bodies, and accountability to the community. The community is now embarking on implementation of the final report.
Co-Management services. Chignecto has developed associations with various parties to allow us to offer a full suite of co-management services to First Nations. If you are seeking more informed and effective ways out of co-management, contact us about your situation.
New research highlights promising practices in Aboriginal education. Based on ten case studies of band-operated and provincial/territorial schools, the report identifies effective strategies and systemic issues affecting the progress of Aboriginal learners. The 350 page report makes 21 recommendations.
Sharing Our Success: More Case Studies in Aboriginal Schooling (Fulford, 2007). Tracey Wade authored two of these case studies (Eskasoni Elementary/Middle School and Se’t A’newey School in Newfoundland.
